Effect of Geometrical Properties on Localized Surface Plasmon Resonance of Gold Nanoparticles

This work reportson plasmonic effects (i.e light scattering and absorption properties) induced by two different gold nanoparticles (AuNPs)-shaped: spherical particle triangular particle. The cross-section electric field profiles have been investigated using theboundary element method (MNPBEM toolbox). Two configurations: the isolated AuNPand coupledtwo-gold NPsystem considered to evaluate localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) in eithersingle or coupled AuNPstructures. effect of surrounding medium on behavior NPs has also examined. Then dependence “hotspot” intensity distance between recognized mapping profile. obtained results can be used as guidelines for synthesizing AuNP structures employ LSPR sensing other applications.
